The Gaiteiros de Lisboa (Lisbon Backpipers) discribe themselves as an folk-traditional-world band of multi-talented musicians.Lots of percussion, bagpipes, metals, tambors and much more, have a look here to all the Instruments they are using.

No mining at Picota, Monchique

We don’t want see this at Picota

The Portuguese government is willing to give the rights to prospect minerals in an open mine (quarry) to a private company in the Serra de Monchique, Algarve, Portugal.
This is an ecological mountain area and one of the most beautiful parts of the Algarve. It is home of the Bonelli eagle and the Iberic Lynx. Many small projects of sustainable tourism are developing here and the wonderful Via Algarviana passes through these mountains.
Please, help us prevent the violation of this region and preserve it for nature friendly tourism, our children and the wildlife.
