Sifucel, second Company who want to explore Picota

Information stand on EcoFest MonchiqueSIFUCEL-Silica, S. A. is the second company after Felmica who wanted to acquire a license for exploration of  feldspar at  Picota – Monchique.
We have to make every effort to avoid the licensing of any mining activities in Monchique.

Below you will find a link to download a letter which must be sent as registered  to the DGEG which is responsible for allocating licencies.The deadline for complaining against this license is  30 days from the 08 of August on, so  every one who is interested to keep the beauty and calm of the Serra de Monchique should send this letter.

First Medronho Party in Alferce

medronho-monchiqueOn Sunday the 10 of July from 15h00, will be the first Medronho party to take place in Alferce.
Here you can try  the different tastes of this famous drink from Monchique and buy it directly from the producers.
There will also be different stands selling local products and handicraft from Monchique.
But before you start drinking this strong Medronho you should eat some of the roasted pig on a spit or one of the delicious homemade cakes.
The music will be presented by Emanuel Martins and the duo Ritmo Jovem.

The exhibition is open from June 12 until July 6.
